Endoscopic Removal of a Self-Inserted Dropper Pipette into the Urinary Bladder: A Case Report
Abstract:
A 27-year-old male presented to the emergency department with a history of a retainedglass dropper pipettein the urinary bladder. A 7.5 cm glass pipette was self-inserted in an attempt to relieve urethral itchiness by administering dissolved paracetamol directlyinto the urethra.Urethrocystoscopy was performed, and the object was successfully evacuated using grasping forceps. Bladder integrity was assessed by cystography. At 2-week follow-up, the patient voided spontaneously without symptoms. Upon psychiatric referral, the patient was diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder and managed with antipsychotic therapy.
