Plagiarism Policy
Plagiarism Policy
The International Journal of Clinical and Scientific Medical Research (IJCSMR) maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy regarding plagiarism in all its forms. Plagiarism is understood as the unauthorized appropriation of substantial portions or the entirety of text, data, ideas, or results from previously published work without proper attribution to the original source.
Definition and Scope
Plagiarism includes but is not limited to:
Copying text, ideas, methods, or results from others without appropriate citation.
Self-plagiarism, where authors reuse significant parts of their previously published work without adequate referencing, including submitting substantially similar manuscripts to multiple journals.
Unacknowledged use of figures, tables, or copyrighted content without prior permission.
All manuscripts submitted to IJCSMR undergo plagiarism screening using recognized software. Manuscripts found to contain plagiarism at any stage of review will be summarily rejected and excluded from publication consideration.
Post-Publication Plagiarism
If plagiarism is identified after publication, the Editor-in-Chief will initiate a formal investigation, potentially consulting a designated committee. Confirmed cases of significant plagiarism will result in actions including but not limited to:
Notification of the author’s affiliated institution and funding bodies.
Online linkage of a notice detailing the plagiarism to the original article, and marking each page of the affected article’s PDF accordingly.
Formal retraction of the article where warranted.
Categories of Plagiarism Recognized
Full Plagiarism: Direct replication of previously published work without any change in text, ideas, or structure.
Partial Plagiarism: Assembly of content from multiple sources with extensive paraphrasing but lacking adequate citation.
Self-Plagiarism: Republishing one's own previously published work wholly or partially without proper acknowledgment.
Author Responsibilities and Consequences
Authors are expected to submit wholly original work and adhere strictly to ethical standards to uphold scientific integrity. Upon suspicion of plagiarism, IJCSMR will request an explanation from the author(s) within a two-week period. Failure to respond will compel the journal to inform the respective institutional authorities for appropriate action.
Confirmed plagiarism may lead to:
Removal of the publication from IJCSMR’s platforms and associated indexing databases.
Permanent or temporary suspension of the author’s submission privileges for a defined period (3, 5, or 10 years).
Public disclosure of offending authors on the journal’s website, with full contact details where applicable.
Implementation of any other corrective or punitive measures as guided by the investigative committee or editorial board.
IJCSMR is dedicated to fostering research integrity and protecting the rights of original authors. All authors submitting to the journal commit to upholding these principles.
